Uber PvE derv build/1ST GWGuru post.
Wounding Stike {e}
Mystic Sweep
Victorious Sweep
Mystic Regeneration
Armor of Sanctity
Mystic Vigor/Aura of Holy Might
Balthazar's Spirit/Necrosis (First is more preferred due to e-management)
-Any resurrect skill-
10+1+1 Scythe mastery
10+1 Earth Prayers
11+1 Mysticism
I made this build a week ago. I use it for general PvE.
By the way, this is my first GWGuru post. I've had previous accounts but I haven't posted anything with them. I hope you like the build, and Hello to everyone.

Balthazar's Spirit is bad outside of solo farming or builds revolving around a tank.
Lose Armour of Sanctity and Mystic Regeneration and put an IAS in, along with another attack skill.
You shouldn't need self defense skills, even with H/H Monks.
And not speccing 12+1+1 into Scythe Mastery isn't good. It's the most broken weapon in the game.

I still prefer Reaper's in PvE, because of the +damage bonus.

OK, try this redo, it's not much similar but it's totally assaultage:
Vow of Strength {e}
Aura of Holy Might
-Any long lasting earth prayers enchantment, aura of thorns preferred-
Mystic Sweep
Eremite's Attack
Victorious Sweep
Flail (5s, not a problem)
A rez
12+1+1 Scythe M.
12+1 Earth Prayers
3 Mysticism
I haven't tried this, but I'm gonna cap VoS soon. I see you guys prefer assaulting quickly instead of balanced defense and offense, so I put in 2 offensive enchantments, 3 (conditional) +30 damage attacks, more into scythe mastery, and an IAS. I used the last build (and I will until I cap VoS to see how stuff works out) not to pressure my monks out. My worries about this build is that without aura of thorns in the 3rd slot it has only spikeability and no utility through conditions. If this looks cool to you please post and tell me what to fix if not.
PS.: Use Zealous scythe-otherwise you will have no energy management and do the uber leet PHAIL.

With Vow of Strength on you can't use any attack skills. VoSt is IMO only viable in NM, because in HM mobs have to high armour even for VoSt+AoHM - you need attacks for additional damage.
In your first build you have too much survivalibity - Mystic Regeneration got buffed recently but you don't need it to stay alive - your monks should do the job.

And on a VoS bar, Heket's Rampage is the way to go.

if you're going to use vow of strength, you shouldn't take any attack skills. you should take more skills like [i am the str]. if you want to use vow of strength, use search, there are a few good builds using that skill.
[avatar of lyss][mystic sw][eremite's at][wild blow][heart of fury][eternal aura][aura of holy might][resurrection sig]
scythe mastery 12+1+1
myst 12+1
you shouldn't have to worry about healing yourself. your job is to make things go boom. sub lyssa for melandru if you want for immunity to conditions. that should be the only self preservation you'll need.

Oh yeah I just saw VoS's description, forgot I can't use attack skills. Well I'm outta ideas for now. I don't use avatars cuz I get easily bored with them. After I make up a much better assaultage build I'll post it here. Although about the survivability things you didn't like in the 1st build-ur right monk should keep me alive but during heavy teamwde pressure and the bad AI monks have (dual WoH's from dunkoro and mhenlo) you can't always rely on them. By the way, does anyone know what Zealous Vow is made for? I think an ANet employee was out of their mind (or smoking some heavy weed) when they made it.

Alot of this game's skills are bad.
Although I believe Zealous Vow was created for an attack spamming build, which is kind of idiotic.

i don't know if you've ever used Lyssa before, but it's uber fun to whack a boss for 100-150 hp at a time. with lyssa and AoHM you should be hitting for about 100 everytime you swing your scythe. and zealous vow is ok for some farming builds.

This seems to be the popular thought of people that play the game, yet I disagree. It's not that alot of the skills are bad, but they don't always work out to be the best skill to use. Also, the myriad combinations for even skills that unfavorable with skills that are make for more variety in play mechanics.
Anyway, derv builds usually surround themselves in 1 of 2 basic setups. Either scythe damage or heavy enchantments/tanking. A distant 3rd would be a balanced build that makes a self sufficeint attacker(my personal preference). The Lyssa build is basic damage and with wild blow, the ability to stop defensive stances while not stopping damage output is preferable in comparison to the warrior with wild blow. Don't take "basic" for being basic. Some will like scythe elites more than Lyssa, but in the end, Lyssa gives flexability for "playing" with other weapons, if one so chooses.
Mystic regeneration added to a protection monk's enchantments work just as well as earth prayers, so it is fine to have in a build. Not tanking, but taking off pressure from monks is always a good thing. Never cared for the vow elites, but that's just me. Mel+Wearying makes for great fun, though energy heavy.
Anyway, keep at it. Play what you like, share what you feel and keep having fun with it.

Pump Wind Prayers >10 (don't remember the energy breakpoint for ZV) and take Zealous Vow with Mystic, Eremite's and Protector's. Get yourself an IAS and a Vampiric scythe and wreak havoc.
That elite was also used to farm UW (still viable).

I'm currently playing an AoL build, I really did see numbers above 170 on Isle of the Nameless.
